What does a Discus look like?
All Symphysodon species have a laterally compressed round body shape, with patterns of shades in brown, blue, green, and red.
There are many notable colour variations, brown, blue/green, royal blue, red spotted green, heckel, red turquoise, solid cobalt, blue diamond and more.
Where does the Discus live?
In their natural environment, wild caught discus fish prefer the calm parts of rivers, lakes and deep pools where they spend their time in shaded area clean from pollutants.
What does a Discus eat?
Discus are insectivorous carnivores, in the wild they are browsers and hunters. Their diet consists mainly of insect larvae and water living worms. They also eat any fish small enough to get in their mouths.
